A confession + this week's Sit & Write
Hi all!
In the interest of full disclosure, yes, I send out a weekly roundup of events, and yes, I rarely ever attend them myself. In the olden days, when we used to meet up in person, it was usually because I was a) just off work and dying to go home or b) too socially burnt out to face other humans. Now that we're all stuck at a home, I have less of an excuse, but I am working full time still so it is nice to have the evenings to just to be a blob. But last Saturday's zoom-based "But Also #23," hosted by Zoe Tuck and Britt Billmeyer-Finn of Massachusetts, was unmissable. The writers I was already familiar with (Kay Gabriel, Cameron Awkward-Rich) were, as expected, fabulous. But I hadn't encountered Stephen van Dyck before. He read from his memoir "People I've Met From the Internet," a queer coming-of-age story in list form "set at the dawn of the internet era." You guys. It's SO good. Check out his work!
As for you and your writing, I invite you to "attend" Sit & Write and experience…
