Greetings, friends,

A quick newsletter to let you know that there's no Sit & Write this week, as our usual room is occupied. But we'll be back in action on the 16th; save the date! But here are some other writerly things on my mind.

I read a great op-ed in the New York Times today that was set in the dystopian future, in which electric scooters have become sentient and feral. Not only is this a close cousin to the scooter narrative in my novel, it's a great writing prompt! If you want to take a stab at it, here it is: Write an op-ed that about something that has yet to (and may never) happen. 

I also read this gem about approaching tough-to-comprehend poetry. A choice excerpt:
