I am truly living my best summer lifestyle. Last weekend after our meet-up I trekked down to Delaware for a surprise bachelorette/birthday party for my dear friend Kate, who is marrying another wonderful Kate. I wasn't sure what I was getting into, apart from some kind of boat ride. But on arrival, I was delighted to discover that our couriers were lesbian pirates who allowed us to re-decorate their pirate ship with bridal shower decorations while we listened to sea shanties. What a dream! A very surreal dream!
That night I stayed over in their rented beach house and took a late night swim in the beautiful moonlit ocean with friends old and new. We stuffed our faces with freshly bbq'd meats and I fell fast asleep moments after my head hit the pillow, in spite of being in an unfamiliar location. The next morning it was back to the beach to bob in the waves for a few hours... until there was a shark sighting and we had to clear out of the water. Nobody was eaten, for the r…
