Never too late
Dear friends,
I intended to write you on Monday. I have a lot of intentions. Rather than shower you with excuses, I will instead espouse the virtue of lateness. Or rather, on the virtue of just getting it, whatever "it" may be, done. Two short articles on the matter worth reading:
Not finishing my novel would have ruined my life
It's never going to be perfect, so just get it done
Sage advice all around.
[Side note, the first article mentions a story that was rejected 27 times before being published. TWENTY SEVEN. Imagine sending something out and getting it rejected 20 times. I would have definitely decided that story was unpublishable by that point. But then the author tried 8 more times and broke through on the last one. Incredible.]
