Transparently, Collective Lit has been kind of on the back burner while I attend to other, more pressing work stuff (it’s a long story). So, let me break my own rules and fully cross my wires for a second to tell you what’s coming up at Blue Stoop.
First, the overview:
On a more granular level, here are the things I’m most excited about:
Tuesday’s (6/9) “Instant Book Club” with Philly Fictionist and beloved Blue Stoop teacher Kale Choo Hanson. It’s a fast-paced, virtual discussion about a surprise piece of flash fiction. Free!
Wednesday’s (6/10) “Clearing the Mist: Alternative Paths to Publication” panel and mixer at Parkway Central Library (1901 Vine St). As it turns out, getting an agent and working with a big 5 (4?) publisher is not the only way to put your book out in the world. Free!
Next Saturday’s (6/13) community showcase, The Last Word at Fleisher Art Memorial. Enjoy readings from the talented writers of Blue Stoop, plus snacks and refreshments, all for just $2.
5 really incredible masterclasses in July and August, all virtual, all $50 — or less with financial aid if you’re local and low-income. We’ve got Danez Smith! N. K. Jemisin!
