Greetings, friends!
A confession: In the last week alone, I attended more readings/lit events than I have in the last 6 months. Which sounds bad, given that I send out this event-heavy newsletter. But, as long-time readers may recall, I live with a lot of social anxiety and the pandemic has only intensified my neuroses. Regardless, I ended up pushing through and made it to a handful of AWP conference sessions and a few offsite events over the weekend. It was so nice to witness live performances and soak up new perspectives on writing, community-building, and pedagogy and I'm glad it managed to drag myself out of the house for it.
I also got to connect with several writers and distribute some fliers for Sit & Write. Between that and the subscribers acquired via the last Wednesday on the Stoop session, I've accumulated upwards of 30 new readers in the last month alone. This perhaps merits a reintroduction.
