A friendly reminder to vote today if you're eligible. Here's a tool for finding your polling place (in Pennsylvania). Like most government websites, it works... sort of.
An aside: You know that feeling when you start learning something new and suddenly see it everywhere? When I started college and began taking women's studies and ethnic studies classes, I saw inequity everywhere--it'd always been there, I just hadn't been attuned to it. Not exactly the same thing, but now that I'm learning UX writing, I see bad UX everywhere I look! Websites that barely work, streaming apps with confusing user flows, and so on. Government websites are particularly clunky and disorganized.
One of my biggest misconceptions about UX writing (among those who actually know what I'm talking about) was that it's supposed to be cute and clever--think of a "delete" button that reads "SELF DESTRUCT."
