Sit & Write #22 + Julian tries to meditate, gives up on poetry
Greetings, friends!
This Saturday, we reconvene at the big table for a few hours of dedicating writing time. I hope you'll join me. But there are also so many other things going on this week!
Tonight, 11/11 @ Hot.Bed: Poems Night. (Free to attend, drinks available by donation.)
POEMS NIGHT is a monthly poetry event showcasing up-and-coming spoken word talent first followed by a lottery-style open mic. Aside from the cult following it built, it’s also known for being arguably the most forgiving open mic of its kind, lending itself to experimental performances in front of a captive and supportive audience.
Tomorrow, 11/12 @ Penn Book Center: Jaquira Diaz in conversation with Carmen Machado. (RSVP for free entry.)
Join us for an evening of readings and conversation to celebrate the release of ORDINARY GIRLS, a memoir by Jaquira Diaz. Diaz will be joined by writer Carmen Maria Machado, whose own memoir IN THE DREAM HOUSE, will be published on November 5. Signing to follow the event.
