Tomorrow is the first day of the 3-week online writing course I'm taking with the Gotham Writers Workshop. I'm a little worried about how I'm going to fit 4 hours of weekly homework into my schedule, but I'll squeeze it in somewhere. Wish me luck! In other news, I am still plugging away at the novel, in spite of repeated claims that I'm "taking a break from it." I am about halfway through writing chapter 6 of 19-ish, so nearly 1/3 of the way through this re-write of the first unfinished draft. I keep getting ahead of myself, stressing about how, even when finished and edited, it won't be good enough to publish, or it will get published and I'll be excoriated by the readers or the communities I've attempted to depict. I'm coping with these concerns by regularly reminding myself that a) if I finish and publish it, there's no guarantee that anyone will even read it, let alone bring it into public discourse, b) even if I don't finish it, it's still all good practice for…
