Greetings, friends!

I procrastinated on assembling this newsletter all week. I blame my perfectionist tendencies. So, in an act of self-defiance, here is an imperfect newsletter, in bullet point form.

  • Sit & Write #58 is this Saturday from 12-3pm. Here's the facebook event, and here's the skype link. Hope to see you there! There's also a mini-S&W next Wednesday 9/2, which I'll send out a link for early in the week. FYI.

  • Alexander Chee is teaching a 2-part class in October about writing an essay collection. It's a little expensive but A) Chee is a big deal and B) scholarships are available. Details here.

  • Black Warrior Review is doing free submissions for Black writers for their 2020 contest. Deadline is 9/1. Details here.

  • Gold Line Press has a chapbook contest with an 8/31 deadline and $15 entry fee, for you last-minute types. Details here.

  • Hippocampus magazine presents a night of nonfiction on 8/29, 6-8pm ET. RSVP required.

Alright, that's enough for one newsletter. Talk to you again so…
