I got some wonderful, thoughtful applications for the radio performance opportunity from last week’s newsletter. I ultimately made my selections based on seniority (who’s been attending Sit & Write regularly), diversity (how am I representing Sit & Write’s demographics?), and radio suitability (whose proposal makes the most sense for public radio). Triangulating these priorities proved to be very difficult, and my preliminary choices were further winnowed by the amount of available airtime.
On the upside, I got to read some fabulous work! Last week (or was it the week prior?) one of our regulars suggested a group reading just for Sit & Write attendees. I love that idea! It’s funny—I’ve known many of you for years, and have only read a few of your pieces.
